PatientReaction, social media or medical resource?

PatientReaction is setup as a resource for people who want to contribute and/or use it frequently to share their health care experiences. Whether you use the platform daily or simply write a few blogs, your experiences will help others in need. These are the connections between patients that we hope to achieve.

Our goal is to enable you to see where other patients with your same condition went for care, what doctors they saw, essentially what was the course of their treatment and most importantly-what was the outcome.

As with any social media platform, you the user produce the content that keeps the site viable. The difference here is your content is not purposely being sold to advertisers, it is strictly used to connect with other members with the same diagnosis. Some areas may contain unobtrusive advertisements and thus they are not being shown in an overbearing way.

The timeline is set to go in chronological order, and you can filter it to just the members you are following. We’re not a big fan of endless scrolling and I’m sure most of our users feel the same way. The focus is a direct connection for patients who have the same exact illness so that all can share their health care experiences with each other and not engage in mindless scrolling.

The ultimate goal is to have a free and open platform featuring a massive amount of patient/caregiver experiences covering all of the diagnoses. A platform where everyone can go and contribute by blogging or communicating directly with new friends bonded by the same diagnosis. Where a newly diagnosed patient can begin his search for treatment experiences of other patients who are more advanced in their care plan. Simply put, users of the platform will be able to find other patients with the same condition so that they can engage in a comprehensive informative dialogue.
