Although there are many ways to choose you family care physician, one of if not the best way is a personal referral from a friend or a family member. If you have a couple of personal referrals even better. If you do not have a personal recommendation, this is where PatientReaction can assist. With time, as content is added to the platform, you will see where other patients went for their care and did well.
You can see, even if you are healthy and just need your yearly physical exam, where patients/caregivers went for care and were extremely satisfied, one can learn from them. Patient empowerment is vital as it relates to making informed medical decisions(in conjunction with you treating physicians as always).
Before you finalize for PCP choice, make sure that they are in you health plan. Do NOT ask them if they take your plan for it is not the same thing. They can take you plan and your carrier could be billed by the doctor as a non participating provider that just "look your plan" and now you just got a big bill.
PatientReaction members are encouraged to discuss all aspects of their medical care including how they are able to pay for the expensive medical treatment they received and all the insurance related issues.
You’ve made it this far, now it’s your turn.
PatientReaction is built on real stories shared by patients and caregivers, people at all stages of their healthcare experience, from those just beginning to those who have been navigating it over time.
If this resonated with you, do not scroll past it.
Share your experience. Add your voice. Help others feel less alone as they move through their own path.
PatientReaction is a space for sharing personal healthcare perspectives. It is not a place to identify or evaluate specific doctors, hospitals, or medical institutions, and it does not provide medical advice. It is intended to offer insight that may help individuals better understand their own situation, alongside guidance from their healthcare professionals.
What you share may offer clarity, reassurance, or simply the sense that someone else understands.
This is your space.
If you choose to share, your experience may help someone better understand their own path.
